These organic cloth napkins are inspired by the Magnolia flower. The pattern is printed by hand using a carved wooden block and then dyed in Indigo. The cracks in the white space looks like batik printing and comes from the cracking of mud paste. When the mud dries and cracks, the Indigo takes the opportunity to freely seep in and celebrate! You can also take this to your picnics, or use it as dish towels. They are easy to wash and re-use! They also come as a mix and match set. • hand block printed using carved wooden blocks • hand dyed in natural dyes • color: indigo and white • fabric: organic cotton • size: 19" x 19" • includes: set of 4 * Please note that slight color variations may occur, as each fabric absorbs natural dyes differently—a beautiful part of the handmade process. * Colors may also vary due to differences in monitor or device settings. --------------------------------------- ABOUT BLOCK PRINTING Block Printing is an ancient printing technique especially with the use of vegetable dyes. After the wooden block is carved with the pattern, the fabric is then prepared with multiple washes to make the fiber ready to take the dye. With the process of multiple printings and washing before the final product is placed in a dye bath of flowers and barks, the fabric goes through the hands of the block printer and dyer with utmost care. That same care is passed onto the consumer who wishes to take part in this process of honoring the craft and the earth that gives us so much.
