The Monotone Ikat Kantha throw is a premium handmade textile, most notably offered by Maison Mieko Mintz. It combines the traditional Kantha running-stitch technique with Ikat-inspired monotone patterns, creating a minimalist yet artisanal throw. Layered with, Natural Cotton with Ikat design print on front to give unmatched comfort and a feeling of relaxed love and care. Each piece takes three months to make and hand-stitched by women artisans in a centuries old KANTHA stitch pattern to achieve the handmade perfection. Natural variations due to handmade nature makes each piece unique. Each Item is carefully handmade to order by Women Artisans. Collection Story Inspired from the artistic influence of Japanese art of patching of old KIMONO fabrics to recycle and sewn together with beautiful coordinates of colors, cutting the better part of many different kimonos. Our founder Ms Mieko Mintz says I've been making beautiful patches for kantha with local artisans in Bengal for many years. The collection always aims to be all soft to the touch of skin and even visually also it must be a comfortable drape. This collection has a four /five layers of cotton and silk recycled vintage saris for Quilts and Throws. Different ikat panels are patched together, often with frayed seams for softness and texture.
