Lemnos essent Clock

Winner of both the iF Design Award 2025 and Good Design Award 2025, essent was designed by Daisuke Kitagawa through a fundamental exploration of the function, materials, and construction of a wall clock. essent uses two number systems to distinguish hours from minutes and seconds. Hours are shown from 1 to 12, while minutes and seconds are indicated from 0 to 55. Different colors further separate the two systems, making the time easy to understand at a glance. The original typeface gives the clock a clean appearance and supports its clear, modern design. The white and navy models are accented with gold, adding a subtle contrast to the clock face. The face is made from a specially selected paper and finished using two types of foil stamping and blind embossing, creating depth and texture through traditional letterpress techniques. By bringing together function, material, typography, and craftsmanship, essent offers a different approach to the design of a wall clock. It is the only timepiece to receive both the iF Design Award and Good Design Award in 2025.
