Boho Window Curtain - Blue Flowers Cotton Panel
Boho Window Curtain - Blue Flowers Cotton Panel
These floral curtains are printed by hand using hand technique called Dabu. Dabu is a mud paste that is applied on fabric using a carved wooden block. Where the paste is - the dye would not go into those parts. These are dyed by hand in natural indigo plant - hence the deep blue colors. We love these curtains! It's a delight waking up in a blue floral garden every morning.

ABOUT BLOCK PRINTING
Block Printing is an ancient printing technique especially with the use of vegetable dyes. After the wooden block is carved with the pattern, the fabric is then prepared with multiple washes to make the fiber ready to take the dye. With the process of multiple printings and washing before the final product is placed in a dye bath of flowers and barks, the fabric goes through the hands of the block printer and dyer with utmost care. That same care is passed onto the consumer who wishes to take part in this process of honoring the craft and the earth that gives us so much.
