You can use a normal dishwashing soap to clean the utensils from the inside and Pitambari or a paste made from Flour (Atta), Vinegar/lemon Juice, and salt can be applied on the outside to retain the shine of the utensils. 3. Why can't I keep salt in the Brass Masala Box? If you store salt, tamarind, or anything sour in the masala box, it might turn the condiments green since the masala box doesn't have a tin-coating inside it. 4. What if the Ghee turns Green? If the ghee comes in contact with salt, the ghee might turn green. Even if a salty spoon comes in contact with ghee, the ghee will slowly turn green.
