Usually, brass is coated with tin to prevent any toxic reactions. However, if we keep ghee in a tin-coated product, it shall turn unusable within a week. It is important to remember that brass only reacts with sour stuff. It is also safe to make rotis in a non-tin-coated tawa. 2. Will they tarnish? Yes. Purity has its way of being visible. As pure silver turns black over time, pure brass also tarnishes. 3. What if the Ghee turns Green? If the ghee comes in contact with salt, the ghee might turn green. Even if a salty spoon comes in contact with ghee, the ghee will slowly turn green. It is best to get rid of that ghee, clean the pot with clean water and pour in a fresh batch of ghee. 4. What if the Roti Tawa has black spots? Since the Roti Tawa is made from 100% pure Brass metal, it requires a medium flame to cook the rotis. If you see any black residue on your tawa, this might be because of the high flame. It can be easily cleaned with Pitambari!
