About The Mill USA

The Mill USA is more than just a rug and blanket company. We're a story woven from four decades of family tradition, a deep respect for African craftsmanship, and a dedication to creating exquisite, sustainable home decor. Our family's influence in the textile industry has flourished for generations. Our mission is simple: To utilize sustainable, renewable resources, train the unemployed to Artisan by skills transfer and hertitage craftsmanship and most of all create a product of beauty and excellence.

We recognize the potential for sharing this exquisite artistry with the world, and a bridge to the global market. Thus, The Mill USA was born, a collaboration with a seasoned expert from the US design industry. Through this partnership, we transcend borders, fostering connections between a thriving Namibian and South African craft and a discerning global audience.

Our factory in rural Namibia produces our rugs, where unemployment once ran rampant, now provides a vital source of income and a sense of purpose for our skilled artisans. We go beyond basic needs, ensuring meals and clean water for our workers each day. Importantly, we've established a "safe house" for vulnerable women and their children who have suffered domestic abuse.

The Namibian desert, a landscape of stark beauty, is also home to the unique Swakara sheep. We utilize this naturally sustainable resource to create our rugs, ensuring responsible production practices throughout the process.

Our South African factory has been in the family for 4 generations, utilizing responsibly harvested Wool and Mohair to create high-quality blankets that can be passed down to future generations.

By inviting our hand-crafted pieces into your home, you're not just adding a touch of luxury; you're becoming part of a story woven with heritage, crafted with purpose, and rich with the enduring spirit of Namibia and South Africa.
