Weapons transformed into symbols of love, upcycled Vietnam War shrapnel and other scrap form the base of this ethically produced jewelry. Each Article 22 bracelet, necklace, earring, and ring is a modern heirloom - an actual piece of history redesigned with intention - that inspires action toward our future, individually and collectively.
The jewelry creates a virtuous circle. It is made by rural artisans in Laos who started melting bomb scrap into soup spoons in the 1970s from their mountain village. Each piece sold contributes to MAG (Mines Advisory Group) to clear some of the 80 million unexploded bombs littering Lao land including an Emergency Roving MAG Team in Khammouane Province. More clear land means Laotians can safely farm and artisans have material to make more meaningful jewelry.
